Fargo, ND
October 27, 2005
International Police Technologies, Inc. ® (IPT) an Oklahoma based manufacturer of the revolutionary VisionHawk ® recently outfitted the Fargo Police squad cars with the latest and greatest in digital in-car recording technology.
The Fargo Police held a press conference on October 27, 2005 at 3:00 PM to
announce
that their squads will soon have new technology installed in the following
days. Representatives from IPT were present at the press conference to answer
questions.
Fargo Police chose the wireless download option which is one of three options that IPT offers customers. The wireless option will download all recorded video directly to the server, thus eliminating the need for expensive video tape and a full-time employee to manage the tapes. This allows all persons who have authorized permission to view video to access it in real-time without having to request it from the precinct or evidence room.
"Most police departments can justify the upgrade to digital video by saving time and money of police officers not going to court. When faced with video evidence, most defendants will choose not to take the matter any further allowing officers to perform their duties without having to spend countless hours in a court room." Says IPT's Senior Account Executive , Chris Mauser. " In addition, with a server-based digital system these video files can be quickly accessed in the police station and copied for the defendant or their counsel, " says Chris.
