International Police Technologies, Inc. featured in July 2004 issue of Law and Order Magazine

Tulsa, Oklahoma — In efforts to keep current with today’s police technology many law enforcement personnel have witnessed and experienced numerous improvements and innovations in police transportation, communications and even weaponry. Currently, there seems to be a great deal of interest focused on the in-car video systems to see who can develop and produce the best digital system.

Law and Order magazine recently hosted an experiment called "The Patrol Video Project." This project consisted of requests sent to multiple manufactures of digital in-car video systems, requesting demo units to be sent to Law and Order engineers for comparison testing. International Police Technologies, Inc. was happy to comply and promptly sent one of their digital VisionHawk systems. After the comparison testing was complete the author, Tim Dees, stated the following:

“International Police Technologies had one of the only truly digital in-car video cameras we looked at.”

During the review of the VisionHawk, the only bug found by the Law and Order engineers was when they tried to assign a unit identifier with more than a few characters; this caused the file system display to stop working. The files were still saved but not easily reviewed.

“By the time you read this, IPT will have probably fixed that issue in its software. When I called IPT for technical support on this, I got a technician on the line in under a minute, and he was able to diagnose the problem and offer a solution immediately” says author Tim Dees.

According to Tim Dees, IPT has “delivered an excellent product.”

Tim Dees is a former officer who writes and consults about applications of technology in law enforcement. The comparison results can be found in the July 2004 issue of Law and Order magazine. In addition, you may also contact IPT directly to request a faxed or mailed copy of the article .
