International Police Technologies:
Digital, server-based video recording system, VisionHawk, offers three electronic data transfer options.
TULSA, OK October 1, 2003
VisionHawk is a proprietary digital video recording system manufactured by Tulsa-based International Police Technologies, Inc. (IPT), a leading manufacturer of in-car video recording systems. In response to law enforcement’s needs, IPT has announced that secure data from VisionHawk can be uploaded by wireless transfer from car to station, a simple hard wire Ethernet transfer or transferred by removable hard drive depending on the preference of each agency.
The new server-based system also features true DVD broadcast quality video, exclusive video editing security and installs compactly in the vehicle, not the trunk. IPT engineers designed the state of the art video evidence system as a total information management solution with scalability into future technologies. It literally places command of collected evidence data at the fingertips of law enforcement authorities.
“Digital video technology brings tremendous advantages to law enforcement applications,” says Larry Sharp, director of engineering for IPT. “Video files can easily be shared with court officials and prosecutors while maintaining the integrity of the original video from the moment it enters the camera lens. Authorized personnel can have immediate network access to the server from their desks or receive information by CD-ROM, DVD or VHS mediums. Regardless, video tape storage and retrieval hassles are eliminated.”
The VisionHawk system is designed with significant features that add benefit to law enforcement applications. There are dual cameras that can record at the same time as well as two channel audio recording. The overhead-mounted forward camera allows recording in any direction and the rear focused low light camera, with wide-angle view, provides backseat coverage. Additionally, there is concurrent record and review capability. The system has capacity to record over multiple shifts and provides pre-event and background recording.
GPS data is standard to the system and can be interfaced with dispatch for other applications. Auxiliary data options are available to enable interface with most radar and MDTs.
Designed for easy installation under the passenger seat to free vehicle trunk space, the enclosed system components are protected in a locked, galvanized steel vault and secured in place without removing the seat. Removable hard drive versions mount in the console.
The IPT TR9 rugged audio transmitter is included with all of IPT’s police video systems, including its compact PowerCam-X and Investigator models.
